Places to check out: Whisky River

If you’re ever in Charlotte, North Carolina, for a race weekend, or any other reason, be sure to visit the hottest bar in the city,Whisky River.

Owned by NASCAR’s 10-time Most Popular Driver,  Dale Earnhardt Jr. opened a bar for fans that would promote a little bit of rock’n roll, a little bit of country and a whole lot of southern charm.  The Whisky River is located in one the cities hot spots in Uptown, also known as ‘The Epicenter.’

It’s a bar that certainly caters to the young college crowd, but there’s a little something for everyone who visits. For starters, a long bar and tables for those of us who want to sit back, relax, drink and chat. There’s a stage for a live band, dance floor, and a mechanical bull for the daring and more adventurous crowds.
On Sunday’s, they are one of the only bars that not only ‘plays’ the race on TV, but includes the volume- something that is hard to find in my neck of the woods.

The menu is filled with southern bar goodies like: beer, whiskey, chicken wings, fried turkey sandwiches, pork ribs, pulled chicken and pulled pork. Everything you could ask for in a bar. Including good looking men- oh and the ladies are sexy, tattooed, dressed in cowboy boots, short shorts, and a leather black vest that shows off a lot of cleavage.

What happens if Dale wins a race? I’ve yet to find out- however- according my sources- he buys drinks for guests in attendance- for an hour. That’s a lot of beer for one person!  The only problem- the drinks are sold while he’s still at the track-celebrating the win- and not at the bar with the fans!

So what happened in Vegas? Check it out on my post on Albany's hottest classic rock station's Quinn and Cantara Show on PYX 106! You can hear me live on air Monday's 7 AM to 10.
